I just can't believe how well Rooney is playing at the moment. Absolutely ridiculous.

Second half was a bit too easy - Fulham never got their passing in order and never had any period of pressure. There was a sense of inevitability.
Berbatov's set-up for our second was beautiful. And the third included a wonderful cross-field pass from Rooney and a perfect cross from Park.
I thought Rio and Vidic looked solid together.
Excluding the Leeds result, our last 9 home games (since the loss to Villa) have resulted in 9 wins and an aggregate of 33-1.

Wow .. i fell asleep on the couch watching the game with 15 left with a slight sense of 'they might snag a draw here' Good result. From what i saw Nani was having a shocker and Fulham played extremely solid in the middle and their third of the park. Well disciplined although it seemed it was just a matter of time until we broke through.

It was fortunate that we got the goal right after half-time because, as you say, they were solid. They didn't threaten much in the second half. Zamora didn't even want his one-on-one chance so Vidic took it away. Nani was awful. Park was excellent; He really is very valuable to our team.

Who needs Ronaldo? Have to say that this was on the cards though once Ronaldo left as others had to pick up his goal tallies that he would inevitably take to Madrid. Rooney has done that and then some.

No, his performances do not merit keeping him.
Utd may well need another winger for next season. Assuming Nani goes, there will be Valencia (RM), Park (LM or RM), Obertan (either wing, though more on the left) and Giggs. Although Obertan is talented and has potential, I doubt Obertan would be ready for regular starts next season (by this I mean an equal appearance tally with Valencia and Park).

I think out of those players Valencia is the only one i would put my trust in for a regular starter. Gigg's i love but his legs i dont think have enough for a full season. Park is valuable but not a regular starter and Obertan im no way sold on for a regular spot.
It must be hard for Nani. I reckon mentally he is very weak but if he gets it all right he could really begin tearing teams apart. I think the pressure and expectations (unfairly) put on him once Ronaldo left has really damaged him and he seems to have buckled and choked and just been a bit off. If he can get his mind right and starts playing to his ability i certainly would want him, but maybe as a player its best he started fresh somewhere else.

With Nani, there are two basic concerns. Firstly, his first touch is less than reliable. He has some talent but the first touch should be the basis from which everything else grows, including confidence. Secondly, he is dumb; He doesn't make good choices as to the pace of play or as to passing/running options. By now, he should be far more intelligent.
There is a problem with him being used on the left because its harder to hit in early crosses. When he was in form at RW, he crossed early and effectively.
As for Park, I rate him very highly. He is smart, his runs inside are useful and, in form, his touch is fine. Not enough of a goal-scoring threat, however. I'd continue to trust him as one of the three senior wingers to make 30+ appearances. Rather harder to say who will or should be the new winger, if we get one. Ribery ain't bad.

i watched the second half of the match tonight and nani got into a lot of really good areas his final ball was just lacking.
before he got suspended he was playing really well and people were mentioning him as being a successor to ronaldo. ronaldo was terrible for quite a while when he first arrived.

Park has far less natural talent than Nani, but it his workrate and intelligence that makes him the better player. Valencia is in a similar boat. Nani also seems to thrive on confidence - he had a good few matches back in January got sent off then that spelt the end of that.

May have mentioned this before but this thing between Ronaldo and Nani seems awfully familiar to Figo/Simao at Barca in the late 90s. Figo was the man, Simao was the younger guy trying to follow in his footsteps and failed at such a huge club. So he went home, tore the Portuguese league to pieces and is back in Spain, still doing well, albeit much older now.
I feel Nani may have to do something similar for the sake of his career.

rooney's the man at united. he wont be the man at real madrid. he wont want to go back into ronaldo's shadow. plus i cant see him ever wanting to leave england. would be very surprised if he left or if ferguson let him go. future united captain i would think.

We got quite a decent draw in Europe. Very nice to have Bayern - haven't played them since 01/02 group stage. They knocked us out in 00/01, and we had a rather famous win against them once.
If we win, we play one of the French teams, thereby avoiding Inter and Barca.

Applied for home tickets as well - and rather glad we didn't get Barca yet!
