I think it doesnt matter whether you are pro flares or not.

The potential consequences of doing it are too great (clamp down on active support etc etc). So if flares are your thing (listen up GGA) then maybe for the greater good of active support, dont do it.

Sadly, this might become the outlet for proper kool rebels and all so self policing has to be the go here.

Has JayJay and some of the others been sacked?  That's awful news.

I figured I didn't see them because it was the finals and FFA brought in their own security group...

Not to mention the fact that Jayjay has been stood down from cove security specifically because of the flares at the 2 previous games.

Thanks a fucking bunch flare knobs, you've cost us the best Secco in the business.

Um, just a quick question - is JayJay a shortish height, very wiry Asian guy? Ten years ago I had to help out a mate who was in a really bad way at a dance party, & the security were actually great helping us out, the guy in charge was called Jay.

nah he's shorter, stocky islander (?) dude with the beard who's been down the front of The Cove since day one. Very VERY good security guard, has been a large reason we've had such little troubles on game day. Has exceptionally good understanding of dealing with passionate people within the Cove and treats the situation as it should be treated IMO. (As opposed to the Hatamoto / Police way of dealing people, which is to abuse your authority, be a c&%t to people, and play big authoritarian power because it makes you feel like a big man).

Would he like a job at BT?

He wont fit in with the workplace culture very well but he would be a refreshing change.

(They probably have courses in pointless picking on people and gratuitous violence if he wants?)

Oh well, definitely not him, this guy looked like he was from SE Asia, the sort of guy you'd cast as "the little guy you know is about to do something good" in an action movie.

Even so, the experience did teach me that not all security guards or bouncers are total fuckwits, a lot of them are there to do a job & are capable of dealing with a situation without having to pump up their egos.

JayJay sacked?
That's fucked.

How is he meant to individually stop people ripping flares whilst trying to co-ordinate the security.
The bald blue shirted guy is a c&%t, I remember him from the SCC days. Him and his fat black haired mate.

edit: Also, the yellow shirted bald haired guy who was pretty cut up when we lost to Melbourne wasn't there yesterday either.
Has he also been given the sack?

Jay Jay was actually on the field last night in front of the Cove for a shirt while during the match.

The bald headed man you speak of is Arthur and he was moved to the control room yesterday. He has been alternating between both this season.

Yeah he has regularly worked security at the leagues club there.

Jaksar, Bankers Trust do not wield batons, unless their interview process has changed in the last few years.

If you look up from Bay 23 you will see a circular hole amateurishly cut in the corrogated roof. This is the 1st cctv installed at  a football ground in Oz to keep an eye on the original Bay 23 Boys at Oz games ripping flares etc.The tifo/big flag over the heads is so that camera is obscured from seeing the ripping of flares etc. That is why they were hassling about the Corica tifo.

It was definitely Bay 21/22 for the flares as we sit in 24-4 and have a great view of the Cove bays.   Tifo comment seems a little stupid?

I wasn't at the game, paying off WC trip to Seth Efrika,so I didn't see where the tifo was. What I mean is that originally the unrolling of big flags/banners etc over the heads of the fans was to obscure the flare igniters from cctv,so that is probably why the security or whoever had an issue with banners/tifo whatever. No flares no problems with said overhead banners etc(from managements point of view)

If anyone is to blame for flares…  I personally blame the FFA.(not literally, but I feel they share some of the blame)

They don’t give home end supporters a chance to get there regular tickets for final series.

Then you get these fully sick band Wagoner retards come in with flares… and all of a sudden the cove “the regular” members get the blame when there hasn’t been one flare all season….  Or last…

Or the one before that.. Before Valentines Day (FTT) the last flare I saw in the cove was when we played Persik Kediri in the ACL at Parramatta stadium…. And that was back in 2007!!!!!
