There's no stopping the VAR train now.

K League have decided to introduce video assistant referee (VAR) in June, a month ahead of schedule.

Would be fantastic if they choked at home next week and our Joden brethren snuck home. #yidsallovertheworld

The ruler of Dubai believes there are too many clubs in the city of Dubai and has ordered 3 clubs to merge immediately, including Al-Ahli who are still playing in the ACL 2017.

They officially no longer exist as an individual club as soon as their last ball is kicked for this season.

Too many derbies

One of the clubs forced into the merger had a crowd of 72 at their last home game.

Elsewhere in the UAE, the ruler of Sharjah is forcing clubs to merge as well.

Interesting move. There is definitely more interest in Abu Dhabi due to the higher number of locals who make up the population and attend as well as only having 2 City teams and 2 outskirts teams. While they all continue to play in rubbish stadiums with minimal facilities and food/drink and at inconvenient kick off times the league will continue to hemorrhage Money. They also need to start trying to encourage expats to attend. The eurosnob factor here is massive, especially when locals can just fly to Manchester, Madrid and Barcelona on the weekend and watch them play live.

Diving bans: Football Association expected to approve retrospective action

Quote
Players who dive in English football could face bans from next season.

The Football Association will vote on retrospective action at its annual general meeting on Thursday and is expected to approve the proposal.

The governing body would need the backing of the Premier League, the English Football League and the Professional Footballers' Association to introduce the rule change.

But it is understood they are broadly supportive and already in agreement.

Under the proposed new rules, a panel would review footage from the weekend each Monday looking for cases of simulation. Any player unanimously found guilty of diving would be given a suspension.

Speaking in December, Burnley manager Sean Dyche said he thought diving would be eradicated from football "in six months" if retrospective bans were introduced.

Fornaroli and Berisha would be out for half the season.

Fucking Hamburg pull off another Houdini effort, 88th minute winner over Wolfsburg that sends them to the playoff instead.
